Herbert V. Hymas
April 22, 1932 - April 21, 2019

Herbert V. Hymas was born in Rupert, Idaho in April 1932 and died in Central Point, Oregon in April 2019. He was predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Lonita Hymas, and siblings, Ron Hymas, Jay Hymas, Dick Hymas, Jerry Hymas and Betty Ferrell. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lauire; two daughters, Tina and Norma (Mike); five grandchildren, Eric, Karie, Kyle, Nate and Maddie; two great-grandchildren, Henry and Cora; his brother, Dee (LaRue), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Herbert grew up in Idaho Falls, ID. He attended Boise Junior College and graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in accounting. While in college, he was a member of the men’s basketball team and obtained his private pilot’s license.
Herbert joined the Navy in 1955 as an officer and became a fighter pilot and later a helicopter pilot. He then became a pilot with Pan American Airways and flew with them for many years.
He enjoyed farming, reading mystery novels, golf, and spending time with his grandchildren.
We are deeply appreciative to the loving care Herbert received from Sheppard Adult Foster Care and Providence Hospice. We will be forever grateful to them.
At Herbert’s request, there will be no services.
