Dani was born on July 26th 1939 to the late Carl and Ruby Mark in Medford, Oregon. She died peacefully on September 22, 2020 at the home of her daughter in Medford, Oregon. She attended Griffin Creek Grade School before moving with her family in 1950 to North Bend, OR where she graduated from North Bend High School in 1957. She attended OSU where she met and married Richard Harms. Together they raised 4 children in the Rogue Valley.
Dani’s working years were spent as a makeup clerk at Pay Less drug store, in the office of the Medford School District 549C and she retired from Jackson School as a library aide. She continued meeting for a monthly lunch with her Jackson School coworkers.
She was very active in the community with the Medford Jazz Festival, lifetime member and PM of the Adarel Chapter No. 3 O.E.S. She was a past president of the Medford Emblem Club #420 serving as the President of the Oregon State Association of Emblem Clubs in 2008-2009. Among her hobbies were reading and her love of children’s books. She made sure her grandchildren had all of the Jan Brett books. She loved to collect ALL things Christmas as well as any holiday she could decorate for. She loved to travel and was able to travel to Denmark in 2014 to visit her Danish relatives. She was a true champion for many many causes.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Richard Harms.
Dani’s second husband Herb Wing was her real love. Herb passed in 2006. Mom married Harry LeVine in 2011-Together they loved to travel.
Dani is survived by her husband Harry, children Rick (Marcia) Harms of Vida, OR. Rex Harms of Covington, TN, Reann Harms Cummings of Medford, OR and Russell(Xiujie) Harms of Memphis, TN. She is also survived by step children Hal Wing of Medford, OR, Julie Strupe of Gold Hill, OR and Ron LeVine. She leaves behind her Sister Carlene Pratt of Medford, brothers Gary (Judy) Mark Aloha, OR, Dennis (Sandy) Mark of Mission Viejo, CA.
She leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dani was preceded in death by her parents, sister Regina Wearne, brothers Carl Mark III, John Mark and Albert Mark as well as husband Herb Wing and step son Michael Wing.
Mom will be forever be remembered for the twinkle in her eye and the laugh that made you smile. She was loved by many and will be forever missed.
We will hold a memorial service in Mom’s honor hopefully in the summer.
Mom wished for any donation in her honor to go the the Aderal chapter of the Eastern Star. We are also asking for children’s books to be donated to the Medford Public Library so the children that lost their books in the fire can have a new book.
