Donald R. Larson Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather went to his heavenly home on January 5, 2020 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Don was born in Aberdeen, So. Dakota on April 27, 1940. He moved to Salem, OR in 1950 and to the Rogue Valley in 1984.
In his early years he built homes with his father, was a volunteer fireman, and became a skilled optician with his father-in-law’s guidance. His passion was working with wood, especially designing and crafting furniture. He enjoyed travelling in his RV, participating with Little Group Mt. Men, and being a grandparent. He loved doing things as a family.
Don was proceeded in death by his parents, Don and Clara Larson; his infant daughter; and sister-in-law, Barbara. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Suzanne; sister, Carol Diskin (Barry); brother, Ray (Carol), sister-in-law, Patti Shanks (Gene); sons, Scott (Lori); Ken, Steven (Brittney); grandchildren, Eric (Ashley), Matt, Ryan (Amanda) Molly (Nef), Miles, and Ayla; and great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Gavyn, and Aurora.
At Don’s request there will be no services. Donations may be made in his honor to a charity of your choice.
