Daniel R. Cardwell
October 19, 1924 - April 16, 2019

Daniel Ray Cardwell went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 16th after a valiant battle with cancer. He touched many lives with his kind and generous spirit.
Daniel was born in Oklahoma City, OK, and graduated from Capitol Hill High School. He was a Veteran of WWII, where he served as Medic in the European Theater of Operation. On returning home he moved to California, attended at University of Southern California and specialized in heating and refrigeration. In 1960, along with some friends, he started a new company, Refrigerated Air & Heating in Burbank, CA. After 25 years in the industry he retired at the age of 48. He and Melvena moved to Big Bear Lake, CA, where he became a Real Estate Broker and started Cardwell Realty. After 15 years he retired for the second time, and they moved to Oceanside, CA. They later moved to Medford, along with his son, Richard, and his wife, Elena. Daniel had a life-long passion for learning. At the age of 49 he got his pilot’s license. He spent many years fishing and hunting with friends and family.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Melvena; devoted children, Maura Bowman (Brook) of Los Altos, CA, Richard Cardwell (Elena) of Medford and grandchildren, Wendy Lawmaster (Sam) of Laveen, AZ, Ryan Cavallaro of San Jose, CA, Mary Cardwell of Medford; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and George Lawmaster. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Cardwell (Norma) of Oklahoma City, OK.
Friends and family are invited to a funeral service on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 12:00 pm at the Conger-Morris Chapel at 800 S. Front Street in Central Point. Burial to follow at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
