Jay McCleary passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019 in Medford, Oregon.
Born Andrew Jackson McCleary III to Andrew Jackson McCleary II (Jack) and Rudy Irene Brown McCleary on February 7, 1944 in West Plains, Missouri.
Jay owned and operated Central Point Auto Wrecking for over 30 years and loved Stock Car racing for even longer. Most weekends during race season he could be found at a track in Southern Oregon or Northern California. He bowled on a league in Medford and loved to travel, fish, hunt, camp and metal detect. He loved spending time with family and friends and he left us with some wonderful memories.
Jay is survived by his first wife, Sheri Lemke and his second wife, Tracey McCleary along with children, Jamie McCleary and wife, Katherine; Angela Weigle and husband, Rick; Jason McCleary; Angela Benton and husband, Damion; Amanda Sarver and husband, Ryan; Jeremy McCleary and wife, Cynthia; and Adam McCleary. Jay is also survived by his siblings, Jackie Schloe and husband, Glenn; Cherry Flowers, Sherry Duerr, Tom McCleary and wife, Darcy; Rex McCleary and wife, Sandy; Patricia Rahn and husband, David; Mark McCleary and wife, Traci; and half sister, Dixie Johnson. Jay was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dale McCleary and his beloved grandson, Alec McCleary. Jay has 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that will miss him.
A celebration of his life will take place at Jaxon Vineyards, 5709 Hughes Rd., Medford, Oregon on July 20, 2019 at 12:00 pm.
