Obituary for David McGonagle

David Eugene McGonagle, 88, of Shady Cove, Oregon went home to be with the Lord November 18, 2017. He was born February 9, 1929 in Medford, Oregon to Frank and Mabel McGonagle.
In 1946, he proudly joined the Air Force and served three years as a B-29 mechanic. He loved his country and was honored to serve. He worked for the city, the rubber plant, and several mills, but retired from Rogue Valley Plywood. After a brief marriage to Margaret Powell, David married Fay Louise Nieblas on November 23, 1957 and they were married 47 happy years. Hunting, fishing, enjoying the outdoors, sharing old stories, telling jokes, playing pool, and watching TV were the things David enjoyed. He frequently walked along Highway 62 in Shady Cove, waving when someone honked in greeting.
David was preceded in death by his first wife; his beloved wife, Faye; his parents; three sisters, Vida Young, Hazel Shopp, and Bertha Eisenberg; four brothers, Ralph, Clarence, Lewis, and Art; and one grandchild, Glenn Dyer. He is survived by four sons, Fr. James Nieblas, Mike McGonagle, Gary Nieblas, and Dave McGonagle; five daughters, Darnell Young, Patti Richards, Jacqueline Peyton, Toni McGonagle, and Peggy Ross; 30 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. David was a member of Shady Cove Assembly of God Church.
