Phyllis Jean Fehrenbach has gone to her Heavenly Home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Phyllis was born June 26, 1927, in Muncie, Indiana to Jas and Esther Swallow.
She had one brother, James.
Phyllis graduated from Central H.S. and attended Purdue University for a time, studying Horticulture. (Her family owned a flower shop in Muncie).
She married George Fehrenbach in 1946 and was mom to two boys, William and Michael. After a time in Florida, and back in Muncie, they moved to the Rogue Valley in 1959. First, to Grants Pass and then to Ashland. Phyllis attended SOC, graduating in 1965, the same year her oldest son, William, graduated from AHS. She was employed as a teacher at Shady Cove Elementary. She went back to SOC to obtain a library science certificate, and, in 1979, began teaching at Little Butte in Eagle Point. She also obtained her certificate to train other teachers. Phyllis retired in 1995.
Phyllis traveled the world, including Israel, (2 times) China, Japan, France, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Canada, and Greece. He son Michael was in Greece with the U.S. Navy at the time, and he helped her see the sights.
Phyllis attended Trail Christian Fellowship for many years and it was her home. She loved the teaching and fellowship there. She has many close friends there who will miss her so much.
Years ago, Phyllis attended Bible Study Fellowship in Medford and maintained close friendships with several women from that time. They met monthly for years for wonderful luncheons. Those were cherished times for her.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, George, her son, William, and her brother, James. She is survived by her son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Alana (William’s widow); nieces, Debbie Ervin (Joe) of Muncie, Ind., Kim Fix (Les) of Shelbyville, Ind.; nephew, Charles Fehrenbach (Rhonda) of Ohio. She was many grand-nieces and nephews, and loved them all so much, and was so proud of them.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Trail Christian Fellowship, 18881 Hwy 62, Eagle Point, Ore., Sat, Dec. 8th at 1pm. A dessert potluck will be held following the service, so bring a favorite.
Private burial will be held in the family cemetery.
