Obituary for Morris Wayne King

Morris Wayne King passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at the home of his son after suffering a heart attack.
Wayne was born January 9, 1939 in Reidsville, SC to Morris Dillard King and Juanita Francis (Griffin) King. He grew up in Reidsville, and at the age of 16 joined the Navy. He spent 7 years in the Navy, where he was a jet mechanic. While he was stationed in San Diego, he met his wife-to-be, Hattie, at the corner of Hollywood and Vine in Los Angeles. It was love at first sight. Seven months later, they were married, and had three children: Tim, Belinda and John.
Wayne and Hattie lived in Hanford, California where Wayne taught school in the Lemoore-Fresno schools. He taught there from 1963-1991. After retirement, he and Hattie moved to Medford.
Wayne was very active in his church, and also with the Billy Graham Association.
Wayne leaves behind his wife, Hattie; his children, Tim King and Belinda Metzler (Michael); granddaughter, April White; and grandson, Tim King; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 10:30 am at His Valley Church, 4812 S. Pacific Hwy, Phoenix, OR 97535. There will be a viewing at 9:30 am at the same address. Interment will be at 2:00 pm at the Eagle Point National Cemetery, 2763 Riley Rd., Eagle Point, OR 97524.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Wayne’s name to The Billy Graham Association or Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse.
