Obituary for Monty Sherman Wray

Monty Sherman Wray of Medford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 17, 2019 from complications due to a stroke. He was just a week shy of his 86th birthday.

He was born in Blackfoot, Idaho on April 26, 1933 to Monty and Jeneva Wray. At they age of 5 his family moved to Ashland, Oregon where he graduated from Ashland High School in 1951. After high school he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. On July 12, 1959 Monty married the Love of his Life Carol Coghill. They resided in Medford where they raised their three children.

Monty was always working and or tinkering. He was self employed most of his life. His endeavors included car and motorcycle dealerships, a skateboard park and most recently his Happy Campers business. The word retire just wasn't in his vocabulary. If he wasn't working you could usually find him in his shop building his next invention.

Monty is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol; sons Darrell and Brian Wray, daughter Michelle (Gary) Ray; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Bonds.

Friends and family are invited to a funeral service on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 3:30 pm at the Conger Morris chapel at 800 S. Front Street in Central Point.
