On Sunday December 9, 2018, Dorothy Ann (Keene) Claflin passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 88.
The second of six children, Dorothy affectionately known as “Dot” to her many friends and “Granny” to her extended family, was born July 17, 1930 to Chester Keene and Ella (Garwood) Keene of Phoenix, Oregon.

A lifelong resident of Phoenix, Dot worked as a postal clerk at the Phoenix Post Office for over 30 years. An active member of Bethel Assembly and later, Central Neighbor Church, she was a beloved Sunday School teacher at both churches for many generations. Dot was also a founding and energetic member of both the Phoenix Historical Society and the Phoenix Friends of the Library. In recent years, she became a staunch supporter of the Phoenix Presbyterian Church Thursday dinner program.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Ella Keene, brothers, Leonard and Chester Keene, sister, Charlotte (Keene) Seaman, and her beloved husband, Cecil.
A family graveside service is planned for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 19th at the Phoenix Pioneer Cemetery. The date of a memorial service will be announced early next year.
