Obituary for Suzanne "Sue" Taylor

Suzanne “Sue” (“Maymay” to the grandkids) Taylor, 60, of Medford, Oregon passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at her home. She was born February 22, 1958 in Corona, California to Marion Nelson and Mattie Odessa (Vaden) Sage.

Sue met her husband, Stephen (Steve) Taylor, and went on to have three children before they eventually married on July 28, 1990 in Rogue River, Oregon at the video store that her friend owned. She never completed high school so in 1994 she went through RCC to get her GED.

Sue worked as a CNA while her children were growing up, and then she worked at Harry & David in the packing house for about 9 years. When Steve found out that their two daughters were pregnant at the same time, he looked at her and said, “Looks like you’re staying home to take care of the babies”, and she did. There were three of her grandkids that she watched on a daily basis (Mikaela, Avery, Wade), that she would pick up from school and usually take to 7-11 to get slurpees and then to a park to play. She liked crocheting blankets and toys for her grandkids, playing bingo and spending time with her family.

Sue is survived by her husband, Steve; step-daughter, Misty; son, Stephen Jr.; and daughters, Crystal and Casey (Mike); 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. She also leaves behind one sister, Nina; two brothers, Buster and Jim (Barb); and numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog, Kayla.

A celebration of Sue’s life will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 10am till whenever at the Elks picnic grounds in Eagle Point, Ore. (10539 Agate Rd.) 15-20 minute drive from Medford. We will be having a BBQ, if you live locally we ask that you bring a side dish and/or drinks to help out. We would also like a head count to know about how many people will be attending. Also, bring your bathing suits/swim trunks, as we will be by the river.
