Obituary for Clara "Dee" McHargue

Clara “Dee” McHargue, 79, left to be with her heavenly Father on September 12, 2018 after battling Rheumatoid Arthritis most of her life and fighting cancer the last seven years. She was a strong and courageous woman who never let pain stop her.
Dee was born to Henry and Susan Schoonover in Scottsbluff, Nebraska in 1939. She moved to Washington and then to Southern California where she spent most of her childhood. In 1955 she married Floyd McHargue, moving to the Rogue Valley in 1961.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bill (Mayetta), and sisters Bobby (Bruz) and Leona (Clayton). She is survived by her husband, Floyd, daughters, Vicki (Jerry), Marlene (Randy), Terri (Tracey), Sandy (Pat), and two foster sons, Bart (Cory), and Mickey (Patti). In addition, she has 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was co-owner of Floyd’s Rent-All where she hooked up trailers and could use any of the equipment they rented. In the fall she worked at Associated Fruit where she became the first woman fork lift driver in Oregon. She was active in supporting her children in 4-H as well as in their sports in high school. She volunteered as a pink lady at Rogue Valley Hospital for 23 years and volunteered at the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital Satellite Clinic – jobs she loved.
She loved her family, horses, Native American Art, reading and her Trans Am. Her home always had an open door and one more person for dinner was always welcome.
Thank you Dr. Koehler, Dr. Steele, Dr. Brandenburg, Dr. Gross, Dr. Sandefur and Providence Hospice and Home Health care for the care and kindness you showed her.
There will be a family and close friends graveside service at the Eagle Point National Cemetery on Friday, September 21st at 11:00 am and a Memorial service Saturday, September 22 at 11:00 am at the First Church of God on Crater Lake Avenue with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers we request you donate to the Crazy Horse Memorial Fund or the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. Conger-Morris is in charge of arranements.
